The Literacy Challenge We’re Addressing

Over 80% of Grade 4 learners in South Africa cannot read for meaning—an urgent national crisis. Poor literacy affects not only academic outcomes but also employment opportunities, cultural identity, and economic development.

Our Literacy Solutions
  • National Literary Games – South Africa’s first competitive literacy sport, engaging youth nationwide
  • A Village, A Story – Rural storytelling initiative bringing books directly to remote villages
  • Writer Training & Mentorship – Supporting the next generation of storytellers in indigenous languages
  • Community Libraries – Building access to books in underserved regions
